OK - I know you soon will see That I am not a poet. I just like to make things rhyme And I’m the first to know it.
But I want to recognize a man That seemed to have great roots. I glance at my Kiwanis friends And we can’t fill his boots.
Jack Sargent is a special guy He’s focused on each deed He always seems to be there With the leadership we need.
Though raised in California We’ll overlook that flaw El Paso seemed to catch his eye And Texas was the draw
Banking was Jack’s specialty No surprise he had success. He became a Texas Conservative and escaped that liberal mess.
He loved a pretty “lass” named June A sparky, gorgeous girl. The goal just after marriage Was to see this great big world.
Jack had a love for flying Airplanes were special to him- But with all those foreign vacations He left that flying to them.
We’re glad that Jack’s still with us Flying hours he did gain- But the great thing about that pilot He never crashed his plane.
When Kiwanians need the flags put out On Jack you can rely He’ll spray those always hidden holes With bright orange flag pole dye.
Jack loves his cars from olden days Almost as much as June Each car- with spit and polish And those motors sing a tune
He’ll grab a Kiwanis project And the details are always done OK — It’s Hot and sweaty But with Jack — It’s always fun.
Whenever you need a singer Jack Sargent fills the bill His voice is strong and he’s never wrong His descant provides a thrill
At times we need to park some cars Get those dollars coming back If it’s gonna help Kiwanis You can always count on Jack
How in the World do you replace him? The facts are clear and cold You can’t replace this man name Jack God only made ONE mold
So As Marble Falls Kiwanians When we all are looking back How special were the times we had Those days we spent with Jack.

Jack Sargent and wife June will soon be moving away from Marble Falls. Bob Linder's ode, recounting many of Jack's contributions to our club and our community, says it best.
